Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I AM a fifth-year pupil taking seven CSE subjects in May of this year and hoping for a career in the transport industry from the middle of the year.

Since December last, I have sent out ten enquiry letters to RTITB approved employers. This yielded five negative replies, one of which said they had been out of road haulage for two years. A further seventeen letters to a random selection of hauliers brought eight negative replies. A letter to the RTITB on January 3, 1984, submitting a list of approached employers has not yet been answered.

My thoughts now turn to wondering where all the truck drivers of the future are going to come from if the rest of he country reflects mid-Kent in its need for trainee drivers.

Do your readers have any suggestions as to which turn I take next or have I reached the end of the road before starting on my chosen career?
