MORE than 80 staff are being made redundant at Perkins Engine; Shrewsbury works just three weeks after the former Rolls Royc diesel engine business was taken over by Perkins.

The 81 job losses represent about 15 per cent of the white collar employees and affects most staff departments right across the board from top to bottom level.

The current number employed at the works stands at 1,420.
