• What is believed to be the first road groupage service to be operated between Holland and Scotland has been established by Channelflow Freight Services Ltd and Rutges Internationale Expedite Gouda NV.
Cargo from all over Europe is consolidated by Rutges in Holland and driven through Channelflow's depot in Glasgow, using self-drive Scania tractive units. A twice-weekly service is being operated, arriving at Glasgow for distribution throughout Scotland within 36 hours. A similar service has been operating in the reverse direction for some time.
