SCAMMELL sales director Mr. B. L Braithwaite this week opened the Ford and Slater Ltd. Scammell trailer centre at Leicester. Mr. Braithwaite announced details of a new Scammell 5th-wheel trailer—the Super Fourtrak, with twin oscillating axles for operation at 24 tons g.v.w.

It is available in lengths of 26 ft., 28 ft. and 30 ft. It has an all-welded frame with high tensile steel (BS 968) pressed-channel section side-members (15 in. x 31 in. x & in at main section), side sills (6 in. pressed sill), rear crossmembers, outriggers and rope hooks, and an under-run bumper, and 5th wheel coupling with 2 in. diameter kingpin to SAE/SMMT standards.
