Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Amplifying the details contained in a paragraph published in our issue for last week, we now learn that the Municipalities and Local Commissions Section, Cairo, is prepared to receive tenders for three fire-pumps, instead of for two machines, the third outfit being required for Nag Hamadi. Tenders will, as aneady mentioned, be received up to May 8, 1933.

Death of Mr. A. E. Salmon.

We much regret to learn of the death on April 6 of Mr. Arthur Edward Salmon, a director of Henley's Tyre and Rubbee Co., Ltd., and chairman of the parent company, W. T. Henley's Telegraph Works Co., Ltd.

Mr. Salmon was born on March. 5, 1865, and joined the parent company as secretary in April, 1894, being appointed a director on April 9, 1926, and chairman on April 1, 1932.

Liquid Measurements Development.

We learn that, with a view to simplie fying the internal organization of the parent company, Oil Installations (1928), Ltd.—a subsidiary of Liquid

Measurements, Ltd.—is being voluntarily wound up. The marketing of the well-known Hammond low-presgure metering system and the conducting of all installation work, will still be in the hands of Mr. C. B. Greenwood. He will, in future, act as the manager of the metering and installation department of the Hammond Pump and Equipment Co., Ltd., which is also a subsidiary owned by Liquid Measurements, Ltd., the headquarters of which are at Victoria Road, London, N.W.10.

Inst. of T. Officers at Leeds.

The new chairman of the Leeds and District Section of the Institute of Transport is Mr. C. R. Tattam, general manager of Bradford Corporation tramways and bus undertaking, who was elected at the annual meeting in Leeds, on April 7. He succeeds E. 13. Hutehinson '(B-radford), who was elected a vice-chairman, along with Mr. A. Brown (L.N.E.R., Leeds) and Mr, If, Pickard (Aire and Calder Navigation, Leeds): Mr. C. E. Douthwaite (Hull) was elected treasurer, and Mr. D. M. Gracie (Leeds) was re-elected secretary, both honorary positions.
