THE ARTICLE about the auctioning of Jimmy Savile’s estate (CM 9 August) started “Readers of a certain age...”
I read with interest about the sale of his Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible and private plate (JS 247) but you failed to reveal the signiicance of this. (JS) is obvious enough but how many of your readers would remember that 247 was the original broadcasting frequency on medium wave of BBC Radio 1 in the early days?
Now that does make me feel old! I wonder what ever happened to his chair?
