• Plans to improve the road system in the North-West include three new further sections of motorway around Manchester and widening the M6 and M62. Transport Minister Roger Freeman says Vbri will be allocated to the projects.
El A road resurfacing scheme on part of the A59 between Preston and Blackburn will use recycled asphalt.
The surface will be removed, melted and reapplied, using less quarry stone than traditional methods.
