• United Carriers, part of the UCI Group, has renewed its distribution contract for Standard Fireworks, carrying at least 60% of the company's output. Standard says the contract is worth in excess of £100,000 "but service, not cost, is our primary consideration", says Alan Hunt, transport manager at Standard Fireworks in Huddersfield. UCI will deliver about 120,000 cartons to 12,000 customers by 5 November.
