• Ryder has picked up a £5m contract hire agreement, involving around 60 vehicles, with carpets and furnishing retailer Allied Maples.

The 19 Iveco Ford 1724 drawbar prime movers and 43 York demountables will truck furnishings from Allied Maples' Merseyside central distribution centre to six depots nationwide. Orders will then be delivered to customers' homes. All vehicles will be liveried in Allied Maples' colours. Ryder is initially taking on 22 drivers to service the contract.
