Mel Lindsey won the 1986 European Truck Racing Championship last weekend when he stormed to victory in the Danish Truck Grand Prix at Jyllandsringen.
Lindsey is a truck driver by trade, working for Rayleigh Cold Storage in Essex. He wins a large cup and $3,500 as this year's champion.
The final positions in the ETRO championship were Mel Lindsey (69 points), Kurt Gomiason (67 points), Slim Borgudd (66 points), Willie Green (65 points) and Richard Walker (59 points). Leyland won the manufacturer's championship.
