• Orpington's own bus network, introduced last month by Orpington Buses (a subsidiary of London Buses is now using a new fleet of midibuses which includes BL's first five Optare vehicles.

In a smart maroon and grey livery the VW LT 50-based Optare CityPacer 25's — first revealed to the UK p.s.v. sector in November '85 — are mainly used on route no. 3 of the Orpington "Roundabout' system which provides a 20minute frequency between Petts Wood Station and Green Street Green.

There are six new routes in the Orpington midibus network which has added seven miles to the routes serving the area. Orpington Buses also operates Robin Hood-bodied Iveco midibuses on the newly introduced services.
