• Orpington's own bus network, introduced last month by Orpington Buses (a subsidiary of London Buses is now using a new fleet of midibuses which includes BL's first five Optare vehicles.

In a smart maroon and grey livery the VW LT 50-based Optare CityPacer 25's — first revealed to the UK p.s.v. sector in November '85 — are mainly used on route no. 3 of the Orpington "Roundabout' system which provides a 20minute frequency between Petts Wood Station and Green Street Green.
