Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Comments on this page (August 9) about tractor and trailer transport for passengers on Rathlin Island, off the coast of Co. Antrim, have inspired a reader to draw my attention to another example of this austere form of travel. He tells me that a tractortrailer outfit provides public transport on Tresco in the Scilly Isles during summer months.

The Southerners, I gather, reckon themselves one up, since the trailer wheel arches are braced by huge brass plates bearing the name "Tresco Abbey". They are actually the original plates from the old GWR Castle Class locomotive of that name.
