Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

month (14-22 October, see ww roadtransportshow.com) will be treated a number of product launches from truck d van manufacturers.

Commercial Motorendeavours to bring you st sight of those vehicles, and this week e've been able to get an exclusive preunch viewing of the all-new Fiat Doblo. Chief among its innovations are revised yling, an improved engine line-up, better :yloads and a new long-wheelbase variant. Taking the styling first, the designers were arged with giving the new van more on-thelad presence than its predecessor. and the suits are good.

The raised headlights, deeper bumper and udi-esque' grille combine to give the Doblo a much more purposeful look Elsewhere, the styling changes are minimal: A new rear light cluster, slight changes to the styling lines along the side of the van and a few colour changes inside are hardly the stuff to set the pulse racing Under the bonnet there are a number of changes to the engine line-up

The addition of the 1.9-litre multi-jet common-rail diesel engine gives the Doblo a much-need power boost to a maximum of 105hp — while a slightly improved 1.3-litre diesel is rated at 75hp. Petrolheads will opt for the 1.4-litre/77hp lump; there's also a 1 6-litre Bifuel (petrol/CNG).

Next year Fiat will cut the exhaust emissions of both diesel engines with the addition of exhaust particulate filters and high-tech variable-geometry turbocharging. This will also increase maximum power outputs, to 85hp from the 1.3-litre and 120hp from the 1.9 The transmission restricts top torque to 200Nm in both versions A shift to 15in wheels on the standard (short-wheelbase) Doble, combined with attention to the suspension and braking assembly. has boosted the payload potential by more than 100kg to 730kg.

If you want more, the new long-wheelbase version, the Doblo Maxi, can handle 850kg.

To give the Maxi its extra payload and a full 4.0m" of load volume Fiat has extended the wheelbase rather than the rear body overhang. While this is the more expensive option. Fiat's designers believe it gives better weight distribution, safer handling and better ride and comfort. •
