Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• UK hastens have changed the date of their "do or die" demonstration on the M25 to 18 May—followed by a show of strength to the heart of Government on 19 May.

The new campaign group British Road Hauliers Unite (BRHU), angered by the Government's fuel duty escalator, believe it is vital that the haulage industry rams its message home to those in power. A national programme of demonstrations will start on 15 May in Newcastle, followed by a demonstration in Teesside on17 May.

The following day trucks will converge on the M25, meeting up at the South Mimms and Clacket Lane services at 12:00hrs. Richard Pinny, a BRHU member, told CM "We are going to the M25 and we are staying there." He says trucks in the demonstration will travel at 30mph, but will not use the hard shoulder or the outside lane. The drivers are prepared for a long haul: a BRHU fax urges members to bring their sleeping bags.

Pinny also confirmed there are plans to drive to Parliament on 19 May Further demonstrations are planned in Cardiff on 20 May and in Glasgow and Edinburgh on 21 May. Contact 07901 901103, 07901 901104, 07901901107 and 07901901200.
