• Veng has announced that all its UK-made replacement body panels now have electrocoat primer. This is about to be extended to imported panels.

UK panels undergo a multistage process including a zinc phosphate coating. The process is said to be identical to that used by most OE suppliers.

Before Veng introduces new accident repair panels to its range they will be tested for accuracy; paint thickness and adhesion; strength; composition and h ness. The tests will be carried by the independent inspec and testing agency SGS.

These moves counter the cism of slow panel fitting (dt the need to remove the prit and dimensional accuracy tamed in the DEKRA repor the Ford tests (Workshop ME 1993).
