Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CONCERN OVER THE number of deaths in the transport sector in Ireland has prompted the government to commission a study into the nature and extent of hazards and accidents.

The Irish transport and storage sector has the third-highest worker fatality rate each year. Only agriculture and construction have higher rates. Since 2003, 33 workplace fatalities recorded were in transport.

The Health and Safety Authority says most deaths involved drivers and mobile plant operators, or heavy truck and lorry drivers. It is seeking consultants to investigate workplace vehicle safety policies; risk assessments and monitoring systems.
