In addition to a display of three Scania 4-Series trucks and a range of associated products and services, the UK launch of the Young European Truck Driver competition will also take place on Scania's stand.

Organised by Scania in partnership with the European Commission with the sponsorship of Michelin, Shell and the International Road Transport Union, the competition will run in 20 European countries with a focus on road safety and fuel economy.

On show on Scania's stand, meanwhile, will be two tractive units and a rigid model from its 4-Series range: an R1241.A6x2/4NA twin-steer unit sporting Scanla's 12-litre DC1203 engine and the HPI high pressure fuel Injection system developed jointly with Cummins; a P94DB4x2NA 230 rigid equipped with Scania's Opticruise automatic transmission—the 500th Scania to be delivered to food service company 3663; and an 111241A6x2NA 420 Classic tractive unit, also fitted with an HPI engine.

An area of the stand will also be set aside for Scania's bespoke fleet management system, Fleet Analysis System 2. This includes all the vehicle monitoring functions Included In Fleet Analysis System 1-1Ike a trip computer, fuel usage, time. distance and engine performance monitoring—along with vehicle tracking using GPS technology. Operating through a combination of a dashboard-mounted Cassiopeia handheld computer and Scania's own web-based software, the system also allows for the incorporation of GSM telephony for voice and text mesaging.

FAS2 also includes a feature called DrhieTime, which gives drivers a way to manage drivers' hours compliance.
