Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• by Kevin Swallow Specialist vehicle manufacturer Vallely has launched its third-generation yard shunter with a new Euro-3 engine, greater GCW and more than 70 structural upgrades, The Ledston 3 shunter, built near Leeds in West Yorkshire, has the 5.9-litre Iveco NEF (New Engine Family) common-rail engine rated at 240hp from 2,500rpm with 810Nm peak torque.

Turning power into motion Is the Allison World Series four-speed gearbox with electronic control.

The rear Sisu 30-tonne drive axle gives It a GCW of 65 tonnes.

Allison has designed the gearbox to recognise when it is lifting heavy loads, adjusting gear change characteristics to give the driver better control.

The wheelbase has been extended to 31m and the Sisu 10-tonne front axle gives it a better turning circle than the 2.8m Ledston 2 version. "A welcome plus." said managing director Gerry Vallely. The fifth wheel rises from its 1,100mm standing height to 1,650mm, as well as having lead ramps over the back of the shunter for small brewery trailers.
