Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

in Volvo plans to launch three new models in September, all with "low-emission" engines The 4x2 FS7 is designed to bridge the gap between the FL6 and FL7.

It is a seven-litre version of the FL6 for operation at up to 17 tonnes GVW as a rigid or up to 32.5 tonnes for artic and drawbar applications. It is also offered as a higher powered alternative to the FL614 fbr fire and rescue work.

The FS7 weighs 600kg less than the equivalent FL7 and is available only with the new TD73E low-emission engine (CM 6-12 June). With 170kW

(230hp) on tap at 2,400rpm and 825Nm (6101bft) of torque at 1,400rpm, the TD73E develops 11% more power and 33% more torque than the highest rated six-litre unit used in the FL6.

A Volvo R1000 nine-speed synchromesh box is fitted as standard with automatic boxes as an option.

Joining the FS7 is a repowered FL7. The low-emission TD73ES engine will replace the TD71FSQ; it develops 191kW (260hp) at 2,400rpm with 1,040Nm (7691bft) of torque at 1,400rpm — improvements of 6% and 18% respectively.

Like the FS7, the FL7 will use the R1000 gearbox. With its two, three and four-axle variants the FL7 remains rated for operation up to 33 tonnes as a rigid or up to 38 tonnes as an artic.

Volvo's third newcomer is the 4x2 FL618. It is designed for operation at 18 tonnes GVW and replaces the FL617 in the UK as a rigid at 17 tonnes GVW or a drawbar prime mover at up to 28 tonnes GTW.

The FL618's low-emission engine is the 153kW (210hp) TD63ES engine which offers 13% more torque than the old TD61F engine in the FL617. A 7.5-tonne front axle provides additional load tolerance.
