The V-R is a two-driver istrument de signed to perate with one or both charts position, and can be fitted vehicles with either 12 or IV systems. It can be fitted :to existing speedo-head aperires or mounted on the dashpard. The right-angle drive as been designed to be bolted a so that the drive cable can mle from any point on the circumference of the instrument. It is fitted with an overspeed warning light.
Veeder-Root estimates the equipment will cost between £80 and £100 to supply and fit. It is necessary for the operator to advise the fitting centre only of the make and model of the vehicle to be fitted.
Already 70 fitting and recallbration depots are established. A spokesman for the company told CM: "Whereas it had formerly been intended to U9C NFC repair depots for this purpose, we are now engaging the services of motor manufacturers' main agents." He emphasised that the new single model had evolved from basic designs which had been developed by NFC and P & 0 Group.
