IT WAS " imperative" that an early conclusion to discussions with local authorities was reached over the level of their financial contribution to the Scottish Bus group, SBG managing director Ian Irwin said this week. The alternative was cuts in uneconomic services.
The matter was raised by Mr Richard Bottrill director of public transport for the new Lothian region authority who said a joint meeting of local authorities is to be held to decide their attitude to assisting the bus Group. Grampian region received a request from SBG for £450,000 last December.
