Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by David Lowe • Not only did Sunday's North Midlands LDoY round at Desford, near Leicester, have its first woman entrant in nine years and 1,600 contestants, but it nearly produced the first-ever woman finalist for Bramcote. As it was Miss J. Fairweather of the County Library did very well to take second place in Class Eli) with a loss of only 78 points. Men look out next year I The number of entries dropped from last year's 162 to 129, but the organizers considered this reduced number to be more manageable in the space available.

This reduction certainly did not reduce the standard of class winners, two of whom seem to have secured a virtual monopoly in their classes. H. Thornley of J. E. Chettle Ltd., won Class F(1) for the seventh time in the nine years the event has been held and S. Taylor of A. B. Gibson Ltd. won Class F(2) for the fourth successive year. C. Bennett of A. Fletcher and Co. Ltd., last year's Class E(2) winner and overall champion, took the Class H trophy and became overall champion for the second time.

A special trophy was awarded by the parents of the late David Harrison, 18. killed in a motor accident a year ago. David was a commercial vehicle enthusiast and transport management trainee and in commemoration his parents and friends have donated the David Harrison Memorial Trophy to be awarded annually to the youngest class winner. The first recipient. Corporal Munro of RAF Cranwell, was warmly applauded by appreciative spectators.
