• Although a number of objectors were present, an applicant for an A licence, Mr. E. C. Thompson, of Diana Borth, Cardiganshire, failed to appear before the South Wales LA at Haverfordwest on Wednesday.
The LA, Mr. R. R. Jackson, commented: "I am particularly sorry that Mr. Thompson has failed to appear today. I wanted to question him about a telephone conversation which he had with the court clerk, in which he was very rude."
Mr. Jackson added: "I cannot express the disgust I feel when an applicant fails to turn up, with such discourtesy to the court and to the objectors."
In refusing the application Mr. Jackson instructed the clerk that if any further application was received from Mr. Thompson it was to be referred to him at once.
