• Abercrombie and Co. Ltd., of Maryhill, Glasgow, scrap merchant, had its C licence suspended indefinitely in Glasgow on Tuesday following admission of deficient maintenance of its vehicles. The owner of the business is in hospital suffering from a heart complaint and will be there for three months more, the court was told. No other official was available, however the yard foreman appeared on behalf of the company at the instructions of the Scottish LA, Mr. A. B. Birnie, to hear the decision to suspend the licence. No other application would be allowed without reference directly and personally to the Licensing Authority, Mr. Birnie instructed.
