• Leyland Bus is to build Volvo BlOM chassis at Workington, alongside its Lynx and Olympian buslines. About 80 chassis will be produced during 1990, starting in April. They will all be right-hand drive UK models: left-hand drive versions will be built later for export. The move involves a £6 million investment. Initial assembly will mostly be from Swedish components, but there are plans to use UK-made parts later.
LI Leyland Bus has announced a £7.5 million order for 100 Lynx single-deck buses from West Midlands Travel.
