The All between Le Mans and La Fleche is open. This makes it possible to drive (mostly toll motorway) from Calais via the Paris Peripherique to Nantes (southern Brittany/Vendee).

A31 south of Toul avoiding Dijon now open. This toll-free motorway makes it possible to avoid Dijon. There is presently restricted access into Dijon from the new section so watch for signs.

Paris — Bicentennial celebrations from 10-17 July: no parking and severe traffic limitations will be enforced in a small area to the north of the Place de la Concorde. On 13 and 14 July a larger area between Place Charles de Gaulle and Place de la Concorde, including the surrounding streets, will be subject to a complete parking ban. Severe congestion likely in the area.

Congestion will also be caused by the Tour de France (1-23 July): public holidays 14 July and 15 August and school holidays (30 June-3 September).

A new upgraded "Super" petrol will be available on many forecourts. Nicknamed "SuperSuper", the new grade will be available in both leaded and unleaded versions and has an octane rating of 97-98 instead of the traditional "Super" grade's 95.

GERMANY Roadworks Al: Several sections to north east and south west of Hamburg.

A2: Several sections between Bottrop to Gladbeck, A3: East of Offenbach (Aug).

A4: South of KNn (Oct).

AS: Near Offenbach.

A6: Several sections to the east of Mannheim.

AS: Munchen (Sept) with A27 at several points. A39: Near Salzgitter. (Oct). A49: At Kassel south motorway crossroads with A44.

Very heavy traffic expected this weekend. Congestion expected on A5, AS, A3, Al and in Munchen and the KoltvDusseldorf area. At its worst on Friday afternoon and evening, but likely to be busy throughout the weekend and on Miaiday.

Border crossing into Austria and Switzerland and will be very busy.

Congestion will also be caused by school holidays at various times between 22 June-11 September. Regions as follows: Nordrhein-Westfalen: 22 June-5 August, Rheinland-Pfalz: 29 June-9 August. Saarland: 29 June-14 August. Schleswig-Holstein: 13 July-26 August.

Hamburg and Hessen: 17 July-28 August.

Bremen and Niedersachsen: 20 July-30 August.

Berlin: 20 July-2 September. Bayern: 27 July-11 September.

The German Grand Prix will also affect traffic on 30 July in the Hockenheim area (near Speyer on east bank of Rhine).
