FEARS of hours of delays on the MI in Hertfordshire have failed to materialise as lorries and cars have stayed away from the junction Eight roadworks.

"Obviously the effort the Government has put into the advanced publicity campaign has been worthwhile," a police spokesman told CM.

Lorries and cars have avoided the contraflow system which has reduced traffic to two lanes in both directions. "Traffic has been cut drastically," he said.
