Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EARLY this week, the London 1—i District of British Road Services completed a highly concentrated movement involving the operation of a shuttle system by articulated vehicles over a fortnight. Three eight-hour shifts were worked every 24 hours.

The task was to transfer 6,000 tons of spares at the premises of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., at Langley, Bucks, to the company's newly. built store at Aveley, Essex, 42 miles away. B.R.S. employed 12 tractors and 30 10-ton semi-trailers, and the traffic was carried at the rate of 300-500 tons a day.

HOLIVIFS EXPERIMENTING WITH GLASS-FIBRE

ALTHOUGH they had been specially concerned with light metals, Holmes (Preston), Ltd., were not exclusively alloy bodybuilders, said Mr. W. E. Holmes on Tuesday when members of the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers toured the works. Bodies of wood, steel, aluminium, or any combination 'within reason, could be supplied.

Prices varied little between the lightalloy and the composite body, but as bodybuilders could give £160 per ton for scrap bodies, the customer might receive part-exchange benefit to the extent of, say, £80.

Much work was being done in connection with glass-fibre bodywork, the impact strength of which was enormous. Holmes were experimenting in the extent of heat transmission of glassfibre, as compared with alloys.

The user's own men could repair minor damage to glass-fibre panels. Major repairs could be performed at the Homalloy works over the week-end. Several depots were to be opened in different parts of the country where week-end repair facilities would be available.
