Q ALFORD CITY COUNCIL has tsi decided to increase the pay. of transport maintenance men by 3d. an hour, despite a move to defer the implementation of the award pending the reaching of a national agreement. The increase to 3s. id., it is estimated, will cost the undertaking a further £8,000 per annum.
