In any situation where an employee is accused of doing something wrong: • Make sure that the employee knows exactly what is being alleged; • Ensure that the employee knows all about the evidence in your possession which is relevant to that charge (both for and against); • Give the employee proper opportunity to prepare a reply so that a counter case can be put; and • Do not make up your mind until you have heard everything.
