• A Cumbrian haulier is threatening legal action against a Danish company it claims owes it around £1 0,000.

Harrington-based Colin Fort International say it faces going out of business unless the money is paid within the next few weeks.

The two-year-old company, which runs two vehicles, claims it is owed for work it did in November for Fuchs Transport of Copenhagen.

Fort says Fuchs has often paid two or three weeks late since Fort started working for it last August, but this time it is causing cashflow problems.

June Fort, wife of owner Cohn Fort, says: "Usually invoices are faxed to Fuchs but they then wanted to see the originals.

"Then they claimed the invoices weren't set out correctly," she adds. Fuchs is not prepared to comment.
