Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

vehicle toward the near-side. I have checked the linings and cylinders, but these appear to be efficient. What other action could I take to remedy this fault ?

Provided the cylinders are functioning correctly, pulling to one side can be caused only by a fault in the brake actuating mechanism or by poor contact between the linings and drum on one side. The actuating mechanism should be checked to ensure all moving parts are free and operating correctly and that the adjustment is correct. If the radius of the linings is not the same as that of the drum, reduced braking performance will result, again causing pulling. It is also worth checking that the cylinders are not reaching the end of their stroke on one wheel.
