THIS WEEK'S top truck is a 2008registered MAN TGA 26.440 XL tractor.
It is listed by ATE Truck and Trailer Sales, and powered by a 10.8-litre engine, rated at 440hp, fitted with the 12speed Tipmatic automated transmission. It comes with a standard sleeper cab.
The driveline uses EGR to achieve its Euro-4 emission rating, which means it doesn't use AdBlue — the central theme of MAN Truck & Bus UK's marketing campaign. It appears ATE has more than one of these for sale, all registered in 2007/2008 and back in from a major fleet. The last TGA cab rolled down the German production line in 2007, and was replaced by the fleet specification TGS and the flagship TGX.
It can be argued Euro-4 is a little long in the tooth, but Laurie Dealer believes in prudence — especially in this economic climate. It's affordable and compliant with London's Low Emission Zone.
