HONG KONG bus operator China Motor Bus Company has placed an order with MetroCammell-Weymann for two 12m extra large Metrobus doubledeckers.
The three-axle buses will operate up to 24 tons gvw and will be powered by Gardner 6LXCT engines.
CMB already operates a fleet of 1 lm jumbo Metrobuses which according to CMB traffic manager Lyndon Rees, are currently returning 87.5 per cent availability.
The buses have covered over 1.64 million miles in total and carried at least 27,880m passengers.
Similar buses are expected by Kowloon Motor Bus Company.
