Glasgow's public transport system are envisagcd by the City's transport Manager, Mr. E. R. L. Fitzpayne, in a report to the Corporation on his recent North American tour. He favours the American fast system of public transport, even if it means excluding private cars from the city centre and compelling Motorists to use rapid-transport feeder services from the suburbs. Blackbourn Take-over : A. and A. E. Blackbourn Ltd., with head offices in Granville Street, Grimsby, has taken full control of the long-established Claxby (Lines) coach firm, Bristow's Coaches Ltd., and services will be continued and expanded.

Yorkshire Woollen Safety Awards: Of the 270 drivers of the Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co. Ltd. who entered the R.O.S.C.O. Safety Competition in 1962, 210 (nearly 78 per cent) qualified for awards. Of the 199 conductors entered, 196 (more than 98 per cent) qualified.
