ORR Y drivers all over the country are 4 being warned not to leave their :hicks when stopped on the road, even hen requested by a man in police niform. A recommendation to this feet has been made by the vehicles' Turity committee of the Road Haulage ssociation, and has been passed on to embers by the R.H.A. and by the .R.T.A. and B.R.S.
The R.H.A. has received several Torts of cases where lorry thieves ressed as policemen have stopped chides and ordered the driver to get out. 'chicle operators are advised to fit bolts ) the cabs of lorries and to instruct the rivers to keep the cab door bolted when Lopped on the road and to offer to drive ) the nearest police station or large arage.
Another recommendation from the ommittee, this time to the manufacirers of trailers, is that serial numbers hould be stamped on the -chassis in a osition known only to its owner.
