A BOUT 2m. passengers a year are PA being lost by the West Riding bus concern of S. Ledgard, Ltd., the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners were told last week. Mr. J. Evans said increased fares alone could not cure the financial troubles, and the company would shortly seek permission to delete some journeys from their timetables,
Ledgard"s. and two associated companies, Samuel Ledgard (Bradford), Ltd., and Samuel Ledgard (Ilkley), Ltd., were applying for higher fares or 15 routes, in accordance with a new mileage scale.
Mr. Evans pointed out that some fares were increased last July, but the yield had fallen below expectations. October's figures would probably show an increase
