Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An application of Sturnham Transport Ltd of Charlton to add to its licence of 13 vehicles and II trailers, four vehicles and six trailers, was adjourned this week by the Metropolitan LA to allow time for a further inspection to be made of the company's premises.

Mr R. P. Hodge, for the company, said that there were other companies associated with Sturnham one of which was based at Newton Abbot. This particular company had been refused a licence by the Western LA because of insufficient facilities and the company had since ceased to exist. Business had improved and it was the intention of the company to maintain all the trailers at Newton Abbot while all the tractive units and rigid vehicles would be serviced at the main Chariton premises. Answering criticisms that the Charlton depot was largely uncovered, Mr Hodge said that much improvement had taken place since -the last visit of a vehicle examiner. It was at this point that the LA, Mr D. I. R. Muir, decided to adjourn the case to allow a further inspection to be carried out.
