Major international truck manufacturers, DAF Trucks, are currently following a planned expansion programme in the Middle East and are developing a new organisation of importers in Saudi Arabia with head offices in Jeddah. This has created the 'following vacancies for Managers to contribute to the success of this exciting venture in a fast growing market.

General Service Manager

Jeddah S.R. 115,000 (Approx. £17,400) To be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and profitability of DAF Trucks' service operations in Saudi Arabia.

The work will involve giving technical advice to customers and fleet workshops and providing technical product support to sales departments.

Applicants should be fully qualified engineers with extensive experience of DAF Trucks units. Experience in managing sizeable workshops would be a considerable advantage.

Service Managers

Jeddah/Darruncmi S.R. 90,000 (Approx. £13,600) To take control of the workshops in Jeddah/Dammam providing a full repair and maintenance service to DAF Trucks vehicles.

The managers will be responsible for profitability, customer relations, motivation and training of locally recruited staff, production of operating statements.

Applicants must have cm extensive truck service background and should have the ability to manage staff and control profitability. Experience of running a workshop is essential and a knowledge of DAF Trucks would be an advantage.

Sales Managers

Jeddah/Dammam S.R. 115,000 (Approx. £17,400) To achieve sales targets in the allocated territory based in either Jeddah or Dammam, by establishing contact with potential customers, monitoring both the market and the competition, distributing sales literature, and recommending and advising on sales promotion, advertising and sponsorship activities.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive and successful truck sales experience, and experience of selling in the Middle East would be an advantage.

Parts Manager

Jeddah S.R. 90.000 (Approx. 03,600) To be responsible for the control of all aspects of running the central parts warehouse at Jeddah, including inventory control, profitability, distribution, warehouse layout and efficiency, retail sales etc.

The successful applicant will have experience of parts management at a senior level and a thorough, knowledge of computerised inventory systems. Experience of DAF Trucks own parts ordering system would be an advantage. Experience of working in the Middle East and some knowledge of Arabic would be useful for all the above positions. Contracts will be with the DAF Trucks importer in Saudi Arabia and will run for 2/3 years.

There are currently no taxes on personal income in Saudi Arabia and salaries will be subject to annual review. The substantial benefits package will include fully furnished accommodation including water and electricity, a company car, 2/3 return flights per year, medical and life insurance, terminal bonus depending on duration of service and terminal salary.
