Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An electronic excess-discharge protection unit designed for electric truck batteries, has been introduced by Stoneleigh Electronics. Called the Battery Sentinel, it contains a voltage detector which monitors the battery potential while in use. When the potential approaches the "over discharge" level a red push button lights up, indicating the battery should be changed or recharged.

If this signal is overlooked, a relay in the unit opens the control circuit of the truck, which then stops. At this point there is approximately 17 per cent capacity left in the battery and by pressing the push button lamp the truck can be restarted for about 30 seconds. This operation may be repeated enabling the truck to reach a battery station, The unit's detector is equipped with a 25/30 second delay to avoid the truck stopping, when the battery potential momentarily drops below the "over discharge" level, eg during acceleration.

Standard units available are 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V and 80V although intermediate voltages are manufactured) to special order.
