I don't think anyone would disagree that this year's LDoY Final at Bramcote on Sunday was the biggest and brightest there has ever been. I'm told that the attendance was a record, and I have the evidence of my own eyes for the tremendous interest shown both in the contest itself and in the unusually large variety of side attractions. There were plenty of personalities around, too, quite apart from the competitors. Ronald Jackson, the South Wales Licensing Authority, presumably supporting the first-year appearance of a South Wales contingent was taking a great interest in the tests.
Not far away, Alan Law and Mr. Hines passed within a few yards of each other; 1 wonder whether there was any recognition?
