Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It was just as well that CM's Art Editor, James Millen, didn't set up as a bookmaker at the LDoY Final to support his forecasts in last week's issue; I think he'd have been forced to welsh. He based his predictions on past form but only two of his selections, taking the widest interpretations, got into the final ten. They were Sgt. J. F. Cronin and N. E. Squire. Having said which, I

take my hat off to him for his temerity in making a forecast at all. It just goes to show.
