are co-operating in the preparation of the new type of drivers' record book which will be required from March 1 next year, when the new driving hours limits take effect.
Details of the contents have yet to be decided, since they await regulations from the Ministry of Transport, but it is likely that each book will provide weekly record sheets covering either 13 or 26 weeks. The RHA journal Road Way points out that it is not proposed to print daily sheets because records kept in this form do not avoid the necessity to complete a weekly record.
It is expected that details of the scheme will be completed by October.
