Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

comes into operation on February 2, 1970, I will be self-employed as a haulage contractor. At the moment I am employed by a petrol company as a tanker driver mostly on artics of 32 tons g.v.w. In October our depot is closing down after which I will be working for myself driving a 16-ton-gross four-wheeled Commer. What I would like to know is this: although I have driven vehicles for six months since February 2, 1969, in the class 1 category, will I be able to endorse my own application form (DLG.1) next year, or would it be wise to get our depot supervisor to endorse it before we close down?

AIf you wish to obtain a class 1 h.g.v.

licence on the basis of driving experience. and thus avoid the need for a test, you should certainly complete the Certificate of Experience (form DLG.1B), and have it signed by a responsible representative of your present employer before changing your job. If you sign such a certificate yourself, in respect of your experience as an owner-driver, this must refer to experience gained in the period of selfemployment, which in your case would be for a 16-ton-gross four-wheeler: instead of a class 1 licence covering the driving of all classes of vehicle you would then qualify only for a class 3 licence_
