A company formed to carry on the business after two predecessors had gone into liquidation has been granted a new two-vehicle restricted licence.
Accrington-based CDM Structures had been called before North-Western Traffic Commissioner Beverley Bell because of concern over its history.
The TC heard that the original company had gone into liquidation owed 230,000 by a main contractor. A major customer, Street Construction (Wigan), bought the assets and formed SMP Fabrications, taking a 51% shareholding. SMP Fabrications went into liquidation when the holding company went under.
Indicating that she was happy to grant the licence, the TC said she was "impressed that the top brass' of CDM Structures were at the hearing, showing how seriously they regarded matters.
