A company was called to a public inquiry alter being convicted of employing an unlicensed driver who was involved in a fatal accident.
The resulting concerns about road safety have led North-Western Traffic Commissioner Beverley Bell to revoke the licence held by Manchester Haulage with immediate effect She has also disqualified the company from holding or obtaining an 0-licence in any Traffic Area indefinitely after ruling that director and transport manager Anne Marie Hickey had lost her repute.
The IC refused an application for a new licence by Manchester Haulage (NW), the sole director of which was Hickey's husband, Brendan Hickey.
