BUS AND COACH-operators — this is for you. Here is another opportunity to show your colours in our annual Livery Competition.

Nowhere is appearance more important than on a bus or coach.

How does yours look to others? Does it present the image you think it does? What do you want to tell potential customers? Perhaps you offer an express service, or is it a relaxing tours operation? Should it appeal to all age groups, or have you identified a particular sector of the market you want for your own? What does your livery say?

These are the questions our panel of eminent judges ask as they examine the entries. They are well qualified and experienced in their art and alongside them to advise on operations we have Noel Millier, CM'S passenger transport editor, Alan Millar, ex-Greater Glasgow PTE and David Wilcox, formerly of Wallace Arnold.

The judgement is made with care and consideration, the comments made about the entries are meant to be helpful and, taken in the proper spirit, they can be.

The entry fee remains at £5.00, and the silver salver is now established as our distinguishing award. Not only will it enhance the table or trophy case, but it shows customers the regard our judges have for your taste.

Entry is simple: 10 Send us four 35mm col our transparencies showing front, rear and both sides of the vehicle.

E Enclose a £5.00 entry fee.

0 Get the entry details to us on or before October 26.

Nothing could be simpler. If you wish, you can also tell us how and why you chose the colour scheme. The results will be published in CM's passenger transport special number on December 7 with plenty of photographs.

Yours could be among them. Send your entry to: The Art Editor, Commercial Motor, Dorset House, Stamford Street, London SE1 9LU.
