Eric Pritchard has moved within the Lex Service Group to become contract services general manager for Wilkinson Transport, the parcels carrier in the group.

Mr Pritchard started his career in transport as a warehouse transport manager for an air freight company at London Airport in 1961. He then moved to Roy Bowles Transport in the European transport division. This company was acquired by the Lex Service Group in 1970 and Mr Pritchard was transferred to handle the parts national distribution contract for Volvo Concessionaires, a position he has held until now.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has announced the successor to John Beswick, director of the SMMT, who is retiring at the end of the year. The new director is to be Anthony Fraser, previously commandant of the RAF Central Flying School and an air commodore.

Seddon Atkinson has made a series of marketing appointments to work with SA's marketing manager, John Bradley.

Paul Hirons takes up the new position of business planning manager, responsible for market and sales distribution planning and distributor development. Bob Barker, area sales manager for the South of England, moves to become distributor development manager, and Nigel Bowker joins SA from a Dodge dealership to take over as area sales manager for the South of England.

Transtrip, the commercial vehicle lighting manufacturer, has a new sales manager. He is Christopher Meader and he has special responsibility for developing the commercial vehicle market, Nigel Parker has joineC Dunlop Engineering Group manager of the vehicl€ braking systems division. MI Parker, who was previously with Mintex, will be based al the division in Coventry whict • developed and manufacture: the Maxaret anti-skid brakirq system for commercia vehicles.

Freightliners have also ha■ an internal reshuffle and Bil Upham, formerly manager o the Willesden terminal, move to Birmingham as group sale manager of the Midlands ant West area.
