Yorkshire Mass Meeting.

Area and sectional committees of A.R.O. Yorkshire Area will meet at a special conference in Leeds on November 15, under the presidency of Mr. J. A. M. Bright, chairman of the Area. The purpose of the conference is to consider the position of the organization in general in Yorkshire, and to complete arrangements for a mass recruiting campaign.

Mansfield's Distinction.

Mansfield Sub-area of the C.M.U.A. held its annual dinner last Saturday, under the chairmanship of Mr. J. E. Berney. Mr. L. W. A. White reminded the gathering how necessary it was for the transport industry to cultivate public opinion. A.R.O. GOING STRONG IN THE WEST.

More committees are being formed by A.R.O. in Devon and Cornwall. Last week a Newton Abbott committee w as formed, consisting of Messrs. C. Boucher, Cholwill, A. J. Aggett, R. A. D. Bright, F. R. Cook and E. Lackey, with power to co-opt further members.

A new district of A.R.O. has been formed at Wadebridge and a general meeting will be held on January 1 to elect a full committee.

A.R.O. North Cornwall Sub-area committee, meeting last week, approved a memorandum regarding the haulage of sea sand ranking for Government subsidy. The sub-area's annual dinner is to be held at Stratton on January 13.

Launching Out at Sheffield and Hull.

Following the appointment of Mr. M. C. Vickers as Eastern Area secretary of ARC., it has been decided that Sheffield and Hull shall each have a full-time secretary-organizer. Mr. T. Wolstenholme, of A.R.O. 's Yorkshire staff, has been appointed to take charge at Sheffield, and Mr. A. Douthwaite at Hull.

New Fares Committee Members.

The following have been appointed to represent the Yorkshire Area of ARC. on the Yorkshire Regional Fares Com! mittee:—Messrs. J. J. Granter (United Services, Upton), H. Foxton (Pullman Bus Services, York), and T. Hoyle (J. Hoyle and Son, Halifax). Mr. Hoyle has also been elected to succeed his father, the late Mr. W. Hoyle, as a member of A.R.O. Central Yorkshire Passenger Sectional Board. He was already a member of the Yorkshire Area Goods Sectional Board.
