Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RENAULTTRUCKS dealer Staffordshire CV is boosting sales of its used Premium 6x2 385 and 420 tractor units dating back to 2000 by having them stretched and their axle configurations altered to turn them into highhorsepower rigids.

"They're all mid-lifts, so they're being changed to rear lifts using a kit sourced from Hendrickson," according to used sales specialist Jim Warburton.

"Euro Axles are stretching the chassis and with wide-single tyres fitted to the lift axle the trucks can be plated at 25.95 tonnes.

"We've just supplied one with a 30ft curtainsider body and another one with a 32ft box body," he continues. "In general box and plant bodies seem to be the most popular choices though."

Once converted, the Premiums fetch considerably more than they would have commanded as straightforward tractor units: "We've sold one with a plant body for £32.500, while a 420 with a crane and a flatbed body went for f,65,000," Warburton reports.
